BRIEF PROFILES OF AKLED CONSULTANTS

1. LEAD CONSULTANT:

SWIZEN KYOMUHENDO PhD

A Senior Consultant, both at AKLED and Socio-Economic Data Centre (SEDC), with over 20 years of experience in Research and Consultancy work, University teaching, and community outreach projects; From the academic viewpoint, undertaken courses at graduate levels leading to qualification in Social Policy and Planning, Organisation Development, Management of Agencies and Projects, and Research, Monitoring and Evaluation

Undertaken a number of assignments at multi-country, national, agency and community level, mainly in research, strategic planning and review, training and facilitation, and capacity building; Some of the agencies include UNICEF, UNAIDS, UNDP, Uganda AIDS Commission, WHO, Department for International Development (DFID), USAID and United States Department of Defense/US Embassy, Uganda Red Cross Society (URCS), Population services International (PSI/PACE), Red Bannet, ACORD, ActionAid, Family Planning Association of Uganda (FPAU), Uganda Network of AIDS Service Organizations (UNASO), German Technical services (GTZ), Uganda Parliamentary Forum for Children (UPFC), Plan International, and Federation of Uganda Employers (FUE), Concern Worldwide, and several Government  Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MADs).

HARRIET MASIKA

A Resident Consultant at AKLED and formerly a Field Research Coordinator, IPSOS Research Company, with over 7 years of experience in research and consultancy work, programs development, project planning and management, programs monitoring and evaluation and proposal development. Harriet has undertaken a number of assignments at multi-country, national, agency and community level, mainly in research, strategic planning and review, training and facilitation, and capacity building; Some of the agencies include UNICEF, UNAIDS, UNDP, MJAP, School of Public Health Makerere University and Uganda AIDS Commission.

Harriet is a holder of Master’s degree in Public Health, post graduate diploma in Information Systems Management, post graduate diploma in Project Planning and Management. She first graduated in Social Work  and Social Administration.

• ASSOCIATE CONSULTANT:

BLASIO BISEREKO BWAMBALE

A graduate of Agricultural Science and Entrepreneurship with a Master of Science in Agro Ecology, Blasio is an expert in Agriculture and Agro ecological fields with quite vast experience from different work environments.

Blasio has a wealth of writing skills with a number of publications about cocoa diseases, cocoa agroforestry and soil erosion impacts in Bundibugyo District.

Blasio has worked as consultant at Smart Farming Uganda, Kabalagala, Latitude Trade Company, Kabarole Resource and Research Centre, Rwenzori Farmers’ Cooperative Union limited

Blasio is member to several professional forums, Uganda Agricultural officers, Uganda Agricultural Professionals, Agricultural Extension Workers, Natural Resources Management, Vegetable Trainers, Smart Farming Uganda, and Agro Ecology Professionals.

Currently, he is an associate consultant at AKLED and an Agricultural officer at Ntoroko District Local government handling a number of assignments, Agricultural projects management, Agro ecological related issues, project development, farmer training( sensitizations and farmer education programs)

• ASSOCIATE CONSULTANT:

BWAMPU BALINSANGAYO ERNEST

A graduate of Economics and Statistics with Masters in Management Studies specializing in Monitoring and Evaluation, Ernest is particularly skilled in implementing programs, driving and monitoring performance. Ernest is a senior trainer of farmers on GAPS [Good Agricultural Practices] and other good economic practices and also brings knowledge and experience in developing work plans, coordination, budgeting and conducting project reviews. He is also strong in producing and analyzing data.

Ernest has undertaken a number of assignments at multi-country, national, agency and community level, mainly in strategic planning and review, training and facilitation, and capacity building; he has previously worked as Project Coordinator, World Harvest Mission/Serge; and as Cluster Head & Field Officer, Esco – Uganda Limited. Ernest has since graduation also added two post graduate diplomas in Project Planning and Management (PPM) and Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) from UMI and UTAMU respectively.

ASSOCIATE CONSULTANT

ENG. MUSIIME ENOS BAHATI A Civil/Water Resources Engineering Consultant; A holder of Master of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees in Civil Engineering and graduate member of the Uganda Institute of Professional Engineers (UIPE); a specialist in geotechnical investigations, feasibility studies, structural designs, analysis and quality checks of construction works .

BABIIHA CHRISTOPHER

Research, Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist; A holder of Master of Arts in Project Planning and Evaluation and bachelor of Information Technology and Computing; with over 7 years of hands-on expert understanding MEL, data management and analysis tools, digital learning and management systems and computer networking.

A specialist in participatory planning, community justice, Social protection of vulnerable groups, gender mainstreaming law and order at lower local governments; Senior Assistant Secretary in Government and University lecturer.
